Today is the day we celebrate independence. We celebrate with BBQ, fireworks, and, of course, cocktails. We spend the day outside enjoying the warm days of summer (some of us in major heat waves) surrounded by wonderful family and friends. The ID2T crew relishes this holiday because it exemplifies two of the things we hold dear…toasting with a good drink and toasting life!
While Memorial Day (which also has a special place in our heart) generally signifies the start of summer, by July we are clearly in the midst of it and ready to celebrate. Now it is summer, the year is half way over, and kids are out of school. This is family time and relaxation time. The best part is that we are all united on this day in celebration of this great country of ours. With all of our differences, this is the quintessential American holiday. So whether you are spending the day at a beach, park, or in your own backyard, we hope you enjoy a wonderful 4th of July.
Come on, what’s better than sunshine, friends, and fireworks? Well pretty much nothing…except a great cocktail to celebrate it with. In honor of 4th of July, here is a recipe for a simple and refreshing peach wine cooler to enjoy today (courtesy of delish.com).
Ingredients
- 3 cup(s) seltzer
- 1 cup(s) peach juice or nectar
- 1 cup(s) dry white wine
- 2 tablespoon(s) honey
- 4 slice(s) fresh peach
Directions
Combine seltzer and peach juice (or nectar) in a pitcher. Add wine and honey; stir until the honey is dissolved. Divide among 4 ice-filled glasses. Garnish with peach slices.
~I’ll drink to that!
