On July 19th, to celebrate National Daiquiri Day, our crew headed over to Carnavale in Chicago, IL, where they fully embraced the celebration with $7 Daiquiris, live music, and even a limbo contest all presented by Cruzan Rum.  Carnavale, located in Chicago’s West Loop, boasts that it serves authentic Nuevo Latino cuisine using fresh, seasonal ingredients.  It is a lively and bright restaurant and on this night was pretty packed.  The food was great (we had the guacamole, the tacos de pescado, quesadillas de camarones, and ropa vieja tacos) and the band was absolutely marvelous!

Featured $7 daiquiris included “Hemingway” (Cruzan aged rum, grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice), “Strawberry” (Cruzan aged rum, Mick Klug strawberries, fresh lime juice), and “Blackberry” (Cruzan aged rum, acai liquer, blackberries, fresh lime juice) which were all delicious and smooth.  They also offered several tropical frozen margaritas which the ID2T crew also enjoyed.
