Art Basel is one of the biggest and the hottest event of the year in Miami. It is when art, culture, fashion, sports, and music all collide in a mix of exhibits, parties, and debauchery and land smack dab on South Beach. Outside of the main event housed in the Miami Convention center, there are numerous satellite art fairs spread throughout the city from the beach to midtown and everywhere in between. Many of the hotels display art installations in their lobbies and there are lots of temporary outside art works on display during the four-day fest as well. Literally during Art Basel you can find art everywhere…and that is the fun of it.
And did I mention the great music and parties…
So on a Thursday night I headed over to Pulse Miami Art Show housed at the Ice Palace in Miami for a private Fader Magazine and Hennessy party featuring renowned hip-hop artist Nas.
Of course, because it was Hennessy they had great signature cocktails and free-flowing drinks. Delicious bites of goodness to munch on were also passed out. My favorite was a gourmet chicken nugget served with a tangy sweet and sour sauce. YUM!
But the highlight of the night was NAS!! He came out on the small stage set in a sexy outside, tree-lined and art filled space and performed one of the best shows I have ever seen.
He performed an amazing set including classics such as “One Love” and newer songs like “Stay” off of the recent “Life is Good” album all while rockin’ t-shirt and some shorts with a smile on his face. The legendary MC had the invite only, intimate crowd in a frenzy!! It was an awesome night under the stars.
