This is a simple and delicious recipe for a great “pitcher” cocktail that I made for Memorial Day Weekend which is perfect for any large party, group outing, or house party.
So what do you need and how do you make it?
-1 cup (8oz) Strawberry flavored Smirnoff vodka
-1/4 cup of Cointreau
-2 oz of sweet melon liqueur
-a can of frozen lemonade
-2 lemons (1 juiced and 1 sliced)
-1 cup of sliced strawberries (fresh or frozen)
In a pitcher, make the lemonade per the can instructions. Add 1 cup of the Strawberry Smirnoff, 1/4 cup of Cointreau and 2 oz of sweet lemon liqueur. Add the strawberries and lemon slices as well as the fresh lemon juice. Stir together and put in refrigerator to chill. Serve in a highball glass over ice. Garnish with strawberry or lemon twist.
(Bartender’s note: Smirnoff gets a bad rap, but it is actually a good standard vodka. Plus, you do not want to or need to use a premium vodka for a pitcher or punch type drink, save that expensive liquor for mixed cocktails).
Red cups work fine too.
